Hey, if your box is named mybox.com can you have a site on it called mybox.com as well? or would this cause big or little problems if so what would they be?

Box is running Redhat 7.2 with webmin installed

You need a hostname for a box not a domain name

if mybox.com is your domain name, you need a subdomain like thisbox.mybox.com and you should have a valid entry in your zone file and an IP address for Apache to start

Your first statement sounded better. Hostname, not a subdomain.

Mark,

Educate this fool please..

Is a hostname a subdomain registered with internic as a nameserver/host.. or... ahem.. is it just a subdomain?

Thanks in advance

Sorry, just a misuse of the term subdomain. A lot of people on this forum do it. I tried to explain the proper use in this thread:

Some people didn't understand my explanation. I admit that I probably could have explained it better. :)
