View Full Version : Varilogix - has it worked well for you?
P-nut 07-21-2005, 02:03 PM I've taken on my first huge project, whereby I'll be helping my client set up a hosting site from the ground up. I'll be responsible for helping them choose a billing system, writing some content, design, etc.
Anyway, they asked me what I thought about Varilogix for fraud prevention. I've never used it myself so I thought I'd ask my fellow WHT'ers about their take on it. :)
So please - tell me if/how it's helped, do customers respond well to it, etc.

joephill 07-21-2005, 08:11 PM unless he is taking like 50 orders a day it is better to personally call and verify suspicious orders.
SLH-Ken 07-21-2005, 09:11 PM Like joephill said, unless the volume is sufficient, might want to hold off on auto-fraud checking. Even then, the system is not perfect, and you will have verify a few orders yourself.
That aside, for a large volume of signups, it does a pretty good job at weeding out the obvious fraud.

We use VariLogiX, on the whole its a very strong hard to break system and really cuts fraud orders infact its stopped them all together.

I sent a sales question over 1 month ago and still haven't received a reply. FraudGate took 1 week to respond to the exact same question.
dollar 07-23-2005, 08:25 PM I have been looking into fraudgate (similiar service) quite a bit lately and from the reviews I've found it seems like a good system to put in place. It will not stop all fraud orders, but will get rid of quite a few of them.
VN-Ken 07-23-2005, 09:23 PM We have a been a VariLogiX customer since August of last year, and to this date, we have yet to recieve any fraudulent orders. Now, for a short period of time, I was a customer of FraudGate, which I found much much harder to setup, and to understand how it works, as you have to create additional things in order to get full functionality. As well, the lady who calls sounds like one of those ladies on TV Ads asking you to join a chat line or dating line, and the voice is very scratchy, while I have found VariLogiX to be solid clear, and sounds like a professional.
Some other possitive things I have found is that with VariLogiX you only pay for APPROVED calls, but on FraudGate you pay for any calls made even if they are declined, or if something happens on the user end, which makes me loose money. So this is another major plus I suppose.

TopHostSupport 07-26-2005, 09:02 AM I have used varilogix for months. With 1 order or 50 a day saving you a charge back is well worth it.
James (varilogix) is a great guy and knows his stuff. I would highly recommend them to ANY company.

I sent it using http://www.varilogix.com/contacts/contact.php and I didn't use serverdivision.com - I used nationalconnect.com.au.
My question was in regards to your API. When I get a chance I'll email again. But quite upsetting after 1 month and no response.
veritashosting 07-26-2005, 07:19 PM I always use fraudguardian combined with varilogix. It works a treat. Its great whena customer orders at 4am and their account is set up.
I wont discuss the fraud levels i have set though :)
