Does anyone have any comments regarding LimeWire (http://www.limewire.com)? I've been contemplating downloading their software but I've read that the "free" version installs other programs. Some have stated on CNET that the extra programs are even installed if you choose the option not to install them. They also have an option to purchase the Pro version without the added software but again, is it worth it?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I haven't noticed anything extra being installed when I told it not to other than a wad of desktop icons for other things. It does have popups while you're using it. The new interface is nice, but it can be a resource hog.

I've used AdAware and love it. It is scary to see what is installed though but at least it allows you to remove them, quickly.
Has anyone tried the LimeWire Pro version for $8.50? They state that none of the "extras" are installed and the banner ads are gone. I assume they wouldn't lie but is that the truth?
Thanks again for the feedback.

http://www.gnOtella.com rocks your socks.
As long as you do some special little tweaks, its awsome. Absolutely no ads, and runs off the same servers as limewire, bearshare, gnucleus ect. I love it. If you have trouble, i'll tell you how to tweak it.

Did you mean gnutella? I found them at gnutella.com.
I've also tried WinMX (it's alright but slow in my opinion) and heard that Morpheus just revamped their design and a ton of people aren't too happy with it. I've never used that program, however.
