I hope I am in the right forum. If not, please help to move to the right one. Thanks
My question is:
Which SSL certificate is better, GeoTrust or Comodo? or in terms of customer support, which is better?
I am also looking into other cheaper version of SSL cert. preferably from an established brand.
Thanks.

I just purchased a StarterSSL for less than $20 last month. It is issued by RapidSSL (I suppose it's an established brand :) ).
Company like EV1 or NameCheap is selling it for a very cheap price.

Check out digicert.com
They are a stand up company.
www.godaddy.com SSL-certificates are cheap and their support is good.

gzola:
StarterSSL is another spinoff of GeoTrust.
Freessl.com and Rapidssl.com are their websites directly.
Ev1 is a reseller for them.

I suppose EV1 and NameCheap are their resellers.
Anyway, Thanks for clarifying. :)

Digicert uses the same root CA as Comodo's Instantssl brand of certificates too.

Stay away from Comodo, I tried them, horrible. Cert never worked correctly, didn't help fix the problem, now have a GeoTrust Cert. :)

Well, I was using Comodo's certificate issued by InstantSSL (http://www.instantssl.com/), and I didn't have any problems with it...

I'd suggest GeoTrust from EV1. At least many browsers have it in trusted root certificate authorities. If you are going to use some of cheap ssl certificates , then keep in mind your customers will get security alerts that Unknow CA. They will be confused and stop the ordering process. There are many guys on Windows 98 machines and with old browsers.
