I want to expand my skill in webdesigning. I would be creating a hosting template and i need a 3d servers! :) but i have no $$ yet to buy 3d servers from 3d designers so i will have to do it the hard way, by being the 3d designer myself! :)

Could anyone point me to some cool 3d tutorials on the net?

This is a tutorial to create a basic 3D monitor which isn't too far from a server. You'll learn the modelling technique used and I'm sure you'll be able to apply it into creating a 3D server.

I don't do much 3D modelling myself but I am sure this is a fairly basic form of modelling. Works fine for things such as monitors or servers, good luck.

thanks syntracore for that tut, yeah i came across that tutorial just yesterday and i am having my acquaintance with 3ds max. geez it's a bit harder than i thought. well i finally made one of my 3d server and could use it finaly with my hosting template.

and btw, could any1 point me to a designer selling 3d servers? i might buy soon coz i'm getting a bit frustrated with this 3d thing. :P

You should keep at it, 3d modelling is a nice skill to have, plus server models are usually fairly expensive.

I don't know of many people who model 3d servers but I do remember Inuxmedia making some fairly nice ones. Might cost somewhere near $20 per model though, so I don't know if its worth it.
