View Full Version : Transferring from NetSol

I'm considering transferring a domain from Network Solutions, however I'm a bit confused.

I've had nameservers set up with this domain at Network Solutions for quite some time, and they're being used on several other domain names.

What will happen with the name servers when I transfer the domain away to another registrar? Will NetSol delete the name servers and I quickly need to create them at the new registrar? Or will they stay around forever until I delete them from NetSol?

Thanks for any help!

The nameservers themselves don't exist at NetSol. The names of the nameservers exist in the gTLD Registry at Verisign - you simply manage their names and IP addresses using the registrar where your domain is managed. They will be fine.

You actually cannot even change your nameservers while transferring a domain - you have to change them after the transfer is complete.

You'll be fine.

Thanks for the answer, but I may have worded my question wrong :D

Say the domain is MYDOMAIN.COM...

What I mean is that my nameservers are NS1.MYDOMAIN.COM and NS2.MYDOMAIN.COM (that I created at NetSol).

I want to transfer MYDOMAIN.COM to another registrar. Will that affect the nameservers at all?

No effect at all.
