I signed up for an account at VeoWeb, noting the full 30 day money-back guarantee. After 2 weeks of not receiving the features advertised, 3 day delays on technical responses, I requested cancellation and return of my funds. I was instructed to cancel my account in a form within the site, which I did. After many requests and inquiries, I still have not received a response or credit for the $300 paid for the account. I have had to take the complaint to the credit card company to resolve

Bottom Line... VeoWeb is not a reputable business and I strongly recommend you all avoid Veoweb, as their service is unacceptable.

Never, but Never, but NEVER!!! pay that much money up front to an unknown entity, even if it works out to $1/Mo. I had the same problem w/ Diatone.net. I signed up, called them twice a few days later for advice and never got a response so I cancelled via a strongly worded e-mail. Fortunately, I never transferred my files (didn't know how) nor my domain (what I was calling about). Now that I think about it, they didn me a favor by not responding cause I got to see their true colors before committing myself beyond a measly 1 month's pay. When I called my CC co. to dispute the $7.95 my co. just credited my account for the 7.95. You, I'm sure will have to go through the full dispute process. I wish you luck.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with paying $300 upfront for hosting. You have options if something goes horribly wrong, but to assume most places will take the money and run is flat out wrong.

Read their policies, manytimes it will state a refund will be issued (or seen) on your credit card statements within 2 billing cycles

len,

What is your domain name?

Although we don't like to provide support on other people's message boards, it is obvious I have no choice.

AlaskanWolf,

You are absolutely correct, although we place the refund right away, it takes up to 2 months to appear on the credit card statement.

One other thing to everyone out there, I challenge you to find ONE person whom we have cheated out of their money.

One thing we don't do it steal our clients money!

We have a 30 day money back guarantee, if you cancel before that time we will refund your money, the only exception would be if you violated out TOS, i.e. spamming.

Jason, I ask this, not out of rancor, but because I too am looking for a reliable host and it's rare to be able to talk directly to a staff member of a hosting company under fire and see how they respond. I think the real issue is not whether len will get his money back, but what prompted his request in the first place. Why would VeoWeb advertise certain services and not deliver on their commitment?

JoeTownley,

I will preface this by saying that I am uncertain if I have the correct client.

If my memory is correct, what happened was;

We have two type of servers, Alabanza and Cpanel, the Alabanza servers are not receiving any new clients, we are putting all new clients on our cpanel servers, EXCEPT resellers.

The problem is that there are many features that we offer on our cpanel servers that we don't offer on the Alabanza servers.

On our website we list these features under the reseller plan even though we don't offer it (because they go to the Alabanza servers). That is wrong and we will rectify it.

Len signed up as a reseller................

As you can see it is not as simple as

" Why would VeoWeb advertise certain services and not deliver on their commitment?"

It was an honest mistake, it certainly was not intentional.

Makes sense?

Hello Jason,

I am not a customer of VeoWeb, but allow me to comment on this matter.

As customers, we see what is offered and make our hosting decisions based on them. I do not think that it is good practice that you display a set of features, but then do not offer them regardless of the reasons. How would your custoners know your internal server setups like this server has these features and that server has that? If it is stated that you deliver a set of features for a certain price, then please, honor the agreement.

I think that you are taking the correct steps to correct the situation. All the best!

SO it takes 2 months to get a credit from the CC company. Lets see, I cancelled my Veoweb account in Mar2002. It is now Sept 2002. My basic math says that's more than a couple of months. I have had my CC charged 3 times since then. I have sent emails to the webmaster(that's where the billing notices come from) and the billing email address. I have also sent form mail messages through Veowebs from web pages and I haven't received any responses.

Maybe Jason can take care of this for me too.
