I am thinking about getting an extra Raq (XTR) and doing the DNS on it! Is it a good idea or should I stay away from it and use my isp's dns service?

I don't know about XTR's but doing your own DNS has many benefits and you learn a lot more about creating back up of sites,mail etc. Run your own if you can and use your isp as secondary to provide redundancy :)
