I need to find out if things are easy to access and if the design layout gives too much/too litte information.

Also, i'd like comments and suggestions for design changes additions subtractions. etc.

Be brutaly honest. I want to make the best site possible.

I like the design, but it seems to unprofessional from a business standpoint, I wouldnt do business with you from first glances at the site, also I dont know who your hosted with but it loads way way to slow and im on a high speed connection

I think what he means is the "star trek" type font, with that layout, and the cut off circle in the left .. well, make it indeed look like a different type of site, less businiss, more for kids to review games and stuff like that :(

sorry, just my 0.02

I never got this type of response before. What has changed in the last two months in design trends to make this site look unprofessional?

Give me some examples of websites you think look good and i'll see what I can do.

Mysitehost,
Nothing has changed, it's just a question of where you got your site reviewed...

The site design itself is fine (In IE at least- there are problems in Netscape), but it isn't particularly well suited for a web hosting site.

The font and color combinations you used make it look less professional, and make it look more like a personal or game site rather than a web hosting site.

You need ideas on what sites are professional? http://www.coolhomepages.com is a great place to start.

Also, why not look at the sites of other web hosts and try to get ideas from them?

Good luck!

Brian

I agree with all of them. Drop the font and the (too) contrasting colors. They are making your site look like one put up by a kid doing the hosting thing for fun.

I am asking for examples of design from current sites you are comparing to.

I was reviewed here before and got a positive response before. So that is why I am confused.

I personally think the site looks very neet. And it is exactly how a hosting companies website should not be!

The one thing that I think makes it look that way more than anything else is the "-=[ ]=-" warez groups and game clans use.

To get a list of sites you can look at to give you a better idea referr to:

Just a little tip:
You need people to see pictures of *Monster* servers and hightech stuff to catch their eyes, to make them want that!

Once again, itīs a really nice design. Sorry to say itīs not suitable for webhosting company.

No reason to get bent out of shape you asked for a review and thats what we give you, bare in mind your site isnt ugly and actually I rather like it but I would use it on something I was doing personally, not for business.

I have no problems with your posts. I think you are being a little too sensitive?

Wow, I can see why you would be confused, then! As I said, the design is not inherently bad, it just might be better suited to a different purpose.

You wanted some examples of host sites with a professional design, so here are some examples of what I consider to be a good design:

1. http://www.intersurge.com (my own site, so I'm a little biased :))
2. http://www.burlee.com
3. http://www.webhosting.com
4. http://www.*****.com
5. http://www.site5.com

Hopefully this will be of some help. Of course there are a lot of other well designed hosting sites available, but these are just the ones that come to mind right now.

Good luck,

Brian Farkas

I personally like your site, but see if you were web designing that would be an excellent sample piece of work you could do. But that birght orange here makes people go wild.

I think you'll find it just a matter of context is what everyone is trying to say. Just try to think of the client you would like to have and design accordingly. I like the site but agree it is pitching to a different crowd than one that's out there looking for a stable host for their site. In fact it may just attract the type of client you don't want - young kids with a credit card number generator etc etc.

Actually I found a site tonight that might help.

Where I going to use an 'Interface' look I might aim at something a little more placid like their index.

I basicly have the same problem "mysitehost". I`m used to design in flash, and it looks good. But it doesn`t look professional and it`s hard to make the site feel "professional" (in my oppinion), first of you must atleast have one fake picture of a rack of servers (even though you maybe haven`t seen a server in your life). And then have the traditional composition (menuplacements), and definately don`t make it as simple as possible!! Maybe I`m talking ****t but I have the same problem but I also see that your site looks unprofessional, or maybe inmature is a good word (it says that you are young, young means insecure (for no reason realy)).

I like the site layout alot
It looks nice and has a "new age" edge to it.
I think if you changed a couple of things however it would look alittle more professional such as the Font. Change it to something that is more readable for one, it dosnt have to be classic times new roman but something readable but tidy also.
Loose the warez'y bits too heh
Also the bottom of the layout seems to be missing? Dunno if its just me however, im using Opera 5 in 800*600.

Cheers
Craig

mysitehost: Hey, did you follow my recomendations ?
That looks more like a hosting site! It looks good except I`m absolutely sure you`re able to make a cooler sidebar on the left, by using flash with the gradient function.

I`m soon lunching my site soon and it`s in the flash style, and I think it looks cool (like your first), but I`m going to see what they say about it at this forum. If it doesn`t turn out good I`m going to make a traditional site like you did. But actually not in frames like you did, it`s going to be full flash. But with flash 5`s dynamic text ability it can look like a traditional frame site but at the same time have the graphics float through the site without messing with frames, and I would imagine that it will be easier to update too.

I am using tables, not frames. The menu bar is temporary, post story board, type setup whic hwill be replace with something else completely different.

No matter how good you do something sometimes some people are still going to say it looks like horse$**T, but i would listen to all these comments made so far, they are good pieces of advice, remeber don't make someone feel like your so dang smart that they will think something else about you, that is also something i got from you site. But make it look good to one person YOU
