With the right click block, it does not allow me to do so. Also it's nothing more then a annoyance because if someone wanted to view the source of the page all they would have to do is go to View => View Source, and if they wanted the images go to File => Save As. So all in all there really is no use to it except as an annoyance. raq4less 03-30-2002, 01:00 PM Originally posted by Ras The right click stopping is quite lame, I must say, especially for a company. Simply use Alt-V, then c or Click View, then Source. :dgrin: Ras 03-30-2002, 01:13 PM I know raq4less. Right click protection does nothing really, since you can always just view the source code. I rarely see companies put them on their site, because, it gets quite annoying. Especially if a person is not web-smart, they will be rather pissed off when the might accidently click the right button and have a box popup. Quite unprofessional. By the way venture21, on your packages page, since you already try to make your offer look more attractive by putting "12,000 MB" instead of "12 GB", why not go all out and put "12,000,000 KB" or hell, really make it look good, put "96,000,000,000 Bits"! ;) ventrue21 03-30-2002, 01:18 PM I did not think you were smart enough to add. You show promise young grasshopper! Maybe in a few decades you will learn some Algebra Ras 03-30-2002, 01:25 PM And as a representative of a company, you come with immature insults too. Well done, I'm sure you're scoring many points. raq4less 03-30-2002, 01:38 PM Yikes, I'm not up for any arguements this morning. I'll just have a  and  I too use Right-Click to open another browser window. I usually just close windows with "Right-Click" protection, but that just me. Jeff Andyc 03-30-2002, 03:14 PM I have seen this guy advertising on Fark before. I was thinking about signing up until I saw his childish responses to Ras. ventrue21 03-30-2002, 03:25 PM The code was left on the site by mistake. It was inside the header function which was being used for something else. ( test ) I would suggest in the future a simple statement. I am not sure if your upset with your live in general that forces you to post as you do or if you just do not know how to say anything nice. Nomatter how you look at it, Ras opened the thread to flame and I apologize because I must have hit a truth cord. That  sounds really good. On a serious note, if you have any questions about the give away just send me a PM. Thanks Dave114 03-30-2002, 08:33 PM Originally posted by Ras By the way venture21, on your packages page, since you already try to make your offer look more attractive by putting "12,000 MB" instead of "12 GB", why not go all out and put "12,000,000 KB" or hell, really make it look good, put "96,000,000,000 Bits"! ;) Helps clarify the difference between 12*1024 megs and 12*1000 megs. Manish 03-31-2002, 02:30 AM What are the terms and conditions for this free account? Hope your Privacy Policy applies to the e-mail addresses collected here apart from those of your customers. ( test )Was it that hard to say? Admitting a mistake is a better way. I would suggest in the future a simple statement. I am not sure if your upset with your live in general that forces you to post as you do or if you just do not know how to say anything nice. The first post was simple, you are the one who fail to admit a mistake "Why whould you need to right click" instead of "Oh, we missed that out, It should be removed soon" Nomatter how you look at it, Ras opened the thread to flame and I apologize because I must have hit a truth cord. And once again, can't admit you are wrong either eh? Well thats just bad. I pointed out two valid flaws of your site. The first was above. The second is a stupid marketing effort practiced by only a few hosting companies, and its quite annoying. How hard is it to put "12 GB"? You aren't fooling anyone with "12000MB". All you do is annoy customers in having to count the zero's to determine how many Gigabytes it is. You see, if you could act maturely, you would realise that everyone's post on this site could have helped your company. However, if you act like how you are, it will damage your reputation. thesmallguyshost 03-31-2002, 10:45 AM Originally posted by Ras And as a representative of a company, you come with immature insults too. Well done, I'm sure you're scoring many points. You're the one that that pointlessly insulted his business plan for no reason. A lot of people advertise bandwidth in MB instead of GB. How do you advertise your plans for sale and what kind and how many servers do you have? Oh you don't have any? Ok. raq4less 03-31-2002, 10:53 AM Originally posted by Manish Ever tried Shift+LeftClick ? :pimp: I knew there was a reason to get out of bed this Easter Sunday morning. I had a reason, its stupid. Just because many people do it, doesn't make it right. And obviously I don't have any, because, I'm not a webhost. I am a potential webhosting customer. And so did he have a right to critique your intelligence and worth of being a potential customer. Akash 04-01-2002, 12:05 AM This thread is already way off topic so I might as well post my feelings here.... First: okay so right-clicking is pointless.... Ras: what was the point of pointing it out in this thread, other than to start a flame war?? Second: As said in another post, many hosting companies, even the big ones use 12000MB instead of 12GB to point out the difference between 1000 and 1024. Again, what was the point to the following quote, other than to start a flame war?? By the way venture21, on your packages page, since you already try to make your offer look more attractive by putting "12,000 MB" instead of "12 GB", why not go all out and put "12,000,000 KB" or hell, really make it look good, put "96,000,000,000 Bits"! Third: I have seen this guy advertising on Fark before. I was thinking about signing up until I saw his childish responses to Ras. Do not base your hosting decision solely on a representative's comments and replies to a childish post. Fourth: Hope your Privacy Policy applies to the e-mail addresses collected here apart from those of your customers. I agree, you should make a more visible link to your privacy policy Fifth: can someone PM or e-mail me the differenc between ctrl+left click and shift+left click in IE??? Sixth: You aren't fooling anyone with "12000MB". All you do is annoy customers in having to count the zero's to determine how many Gigabytes it is. I don't think he wasn't trying to fool anybody. I think (at least I hope) he was trying to clarify the difference between 1000 and 1024. Again, no point to your post(s) other than to start a flame war... Seventh (and last): Ras is the type of person that makes me strongly push for a 7 day ban for posting irrelevent, obnoxious, and rude remarks in the Advertising Forums. "Any member who is intentionally unpleasant or disruptive will receive one warning, and will be permanently banned from WebHostingTalk after a second offense. Now, let me assume Chicken's role (:D ) and say "Let's get this thread back on-topic before it's closed. Any serious questions about the offer, can be posted here. All else should be e-mailed or PMed." Ras 04-02-2002, 11:02 AM This thread is disgusting. Its proving to me what I noticed when I first began to visit these boards. All you Webhosting representatives stand together, like a little pack, and almost attack every single customer that comes here when they stand up to a webhost. Do you forget the basis of business? They depend on customers. Look at it in this thread, everyone comes to stand up for the originator, and all these people run a webhost company. Your colleagues don't drive sales, customers do. If you treat them with absolutely no respect, and consider almost every post by them as "Immature" and "Childish" and "Wanting to start a flame war", you won't get anywhere. If I was considered annoying, and my posts were pushing the limits, you know what a good customer service representative is supposed to do? IGNORE instead of firing back with stupid comments. For the sake of peace, I will not post in this thread again. Note to all: Learn business skills. SimonMc 04-03-2002, 05:32 AM Originally posted by Ras For the sake of peace, I will not post in this thread again. Note to all: Learn business skills. Some business just isn't worth doing. I feel for your host. The guys offer seemed reasonable to me. There are a lot more annoying things in life than not being able to right click...or buying your apples in pounds instead of Kgs. I hope you find the peace within yourself that you so dearly search for. Simon cyansmoker 04-03-2002, 05:50 AM Originally posted by Ras All you Webhosting representatives stand together, like a little pack, and almost attack every single customer that comes here when they stand up to a webhost. Ras, you've really lost it man. I myself have posted some bad comments regarding Hostexa (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41592&highlight=hostexa) but it seems that Ventrue may not be to blame at all. Anyway, this said, you cannot accuse me of being partial, or you could say I'm biased *against* him. And yet I read your posts and it really seems to me your attacks aren't valid at all. Like Rastoma pointed out, Ventrue is using common standards in this industry, there's nothing to be offended by unless you're really after him for an undisclosed reason. OK this post is getting too long and confusing  My point is: nope, we aren't like that (on the contrary!) and you sould take it easy. Everybody here will be more than happy to help you find a solution that fits you. Heck, I'm sure even Ventrue will. Edit: reading my post, all I can think is "geez, this aging process isn't overrated at all: look at that, I'm barely making sense. Utterly senile  " ventrue21 04-03-2002, 10:11 AM cyansmoker, I am just glad I was able to clear up that whole issue. The bright side of all of this is both of us have the change to help out those clients. I now own the domain name vehost.com so between the two of us we should be able to save those clients and I will be able to provide good service to that company going forward. With any luck Mr. Wei will never get into the webhosting business again. ;) Guten Abend |
