Hi, another Raq newbie. I have read the manual and the forums but still can't quite get to grips with mail settings. I would be most grateful for someone to outline the correct settings. I hope that once I get one set-up correctly, I will be able to make sense of it. Thanks.

I would like to set up an email account:-
user@domain.co.uk

I would like the user to be able to enter:-
mail.domain.uk
in their outlook express pop3 server field.

I DO NOT want mails sent from the server (vacation messages, form mails etc) to come from user@www.domain.co.uk but rather from just user@domain.co.uk

I have listed the server settings below. All IP's maked xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx refer to the same IP address. domain.co.uk is the primary site (the one you can't delete)

I have the following entries in my DNS
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -> domain.co.uk
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -> ns1domain.co.uk
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -> www.domain.co.uk
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -> mail.domain.co.uk
domain.co.uk -> xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
ns1.domain.co.uk -> xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
www.domain.co.uk -> xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
mail.domain.co.uk -> xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
domain.co.uk (mail set to high priority) www.domain.co.uk

A glue record has been made with nominet
key: domain.co.uk
ns1: ns1.domain.co.uk. xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
ns2: ns1.anotherdomain.co.uk (not on the Raq)

I have the following site settings for www.domain.co.uk
IP Address:- xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Host Name:- www
Domain Name:- domain.co.uk
Web Server Alias:- domain.co.uk
Email Server Alias:- domain.co.uk, mail.domain.co.uk

As things stand Outlook settings are pop3 domain.co.uk and vacation messages come from user@www.domain.co.uk and mail IS sending/receiving.

I changed the above quote to the way it should be. Deleted a lot of lines. Also changed the Mx record from www.domain.co.uk to mail.domain.co.uk

With this setup it will work.
