I made my paypal account back in '02, left it unused until just last month when I tied it into my bank account, set it up for my LLC, added a @mydotcom email to it, etc.

Problem: I just discovered I originally used a pseudonym to register. What should I do? :eek:

I don't think you can change names after the account is open. Open a ticket with them using their contact form and ask them but I think they will tell you to close that account and open a new one. I had a similar problem and that's what they told me to do (but it was a few years ago so procedures may have changed now)

And if I try to use it, I'll get it closed, right?

Contact customer service or go through the online Help section - I believe there is a topic specifically for "I need to change my name". Depending on what you need to change and why, it should instruct you on the steps you need to take to get the name changed.

I changed my PayPal Business Account name earlier this year by contacting them - you can do it.
