Apart from the Cobalt control panel, is there any way of checking that the DNS server is working properly on a RAQ 4?
I have been having problems with domains resolving, so I ran a couple of checks. According to the information that I got at: Dlint - DNS Zone Checking System (http://www.domtools.com/dlint/nph-dlint.cgi) the nameservers are not responding etc., etc.,
Is it a problem with me, or is it something external? Up to now I have been able to add more than a dozen domains to the RAQ without any problems. Some of the domains were new registrations, others were transfers. No problems. Now it's all gone crazy.

Thanks for the link. Nice tool:)
Unfortunately it's only confirming what I already knew. No IP address etc., etc.
I'm beginning to lose it here!!!!

Thanks for the reply. Still having problems.
The SOA, as I mentioned in my reply, already contained both ns and ns2, so that isn't the problem. There must be something else wrong somewhere else. I can't see what though.

I took out the ns2 reference from the SOA and now it works fine. That seems totally illogical, but as it's working I really couldn't care less.
I'll have to wait until after the weekend to find out something more about it.

there are a lot of things which pop up that seems illogical, but there is a reason behind everything.
BTW its nice to hear that you no more have that problem

I'm sure there is a reason, but I'd rather not mess with the DNS now that it's working. I'll wait until I can get somebody else to look at it :)
Thanks again for your help. The tool you gave me a link for was particularly useful
