Is there a way to create email aliases that forward to different email account without creating a user for each and every alias (like put them all under the admin account)?

Just use the virtuser and put in the local email address and the email address you want it forward'd to

Chicken,

Like lets say I have http://www.domain1.com as my main domain. I could create a user and then put a bunch of aliases and have them all forward to i.e. zolbian@mymail.com. Now if I wanted an alias to forward to saeed@mymail.com I would have to create another user, and so on. Isn't there a way to create the different aliases/forwards without creating new users?

I remember on one of my accounts on a shared server I could create the file .saeed and put the forward url in it. This would forward all emails to saeed@domain1.com to the email address given in that file.

I believe you want to set a catch-all correct?

You can do this from the CP as well, might be easier for you. After you create the user, go into the user's email settings and where it says alias type:

@www.domain.com (use both host name and domain name).

You can set up another user and forward a specific address to another place if you want, as this just catches anything that *isn't* specified.

Or just list more than one alias in the box.

No, you misunderstood me.

How do I create an email alias without creating a new user from the control panel?
