Lots of people have reported problems using Registerfly for .uk registrations - including some on this forum. You may want to look very carefully.

The registration period for .uk domains is two years - you can't register them for more than two years nor for less than two years. Don't trust anyone who tries to offer you registrations for any other period.

If you are in the UK I would strongly recommend that you use someone who is also in the UK - things get very complicated when you cross jurisdictions. If you are registering outside your own country you have no choice, but if you are registering in your own country you would complicate things unnecessarily by using a foreign registrar.

Thanks very much for your advice. I am based in the US so its still hard to find placed to buy cheap domains without having to pay $15-$45 for that.

Price isn't everything. I've heard plenty of horror stories... you should look for quality and reliability first.

Right. I just registered with a .org.uk company for $21/ 2 years and it is already up and running. Great advice!

.ltd.uk can only be registered for UK Limited companies
.plc.uk can only be registered for UK Public Limited Companies

.nhs.uk is reserved for the NHS
.ac.uk can only be registered for state approved education establishments
.gov.uk can only be registered for home-office approved goverment departments and projects
