View Full Version : NameCheap???
clintrichardson 07-04-2005, 10:45 PM They are NOT returning my calls to renew my domain ASCENSIONMODELS.COM,
They are NOT responding to multiple emails sent to them.
They are NOT giving any warning that your domain is about to expire and if it does you can NO LONGER manage it by logging into the SITE.
I expect that I will be hijacked as soon as it is 'legal' for them to do so and I encourage all of you to watch my site closely if you do not believe this.
I am hoping posting this will force them to finally contact me before my domain moves to the next stage of expiration.
The parent company enom will not assist you with the reseller.
I will be contacting the FTC about this issue if it continues to the next level.
I will only update this post after I receive resolution from the company and only state when I received resolution.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT USE ENOM, NAMECHEAP, OR ANY OTHER ENOM RESELLER !!!!

Well, they DO send out several 'reminder', or 'warning', eMails, weeks before the domain name is about to expire.. If you didnt get these, you may have not been checking / using the eMail adress which has been listed, originally, in the WhoIs of your domain.? ( I always received such messages, upfront, for all those domains I registered with NameCheap, in the past.. )

that's hilarious (http://mikebailey.net/junk/namecheap-renew.gif)
thestreet 07-05-2005, 04:13 AM They are NOT returning my calls to renew my domain ASCENSIONMODELS.COM,
I couldn't find any phone numbers in their (new) website. Maybe they are not providing phone support anymore.
They are NOT responding to multiple emails sent to them.
There is a post in another thread http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=94235 from Richard Kirkendall that says you can email him directly if you don't receive a reply for more than one day.
However, in your case, it is possible that they are not able to reply to you since your domain is currently inactive. So, try use a third party email address.

In your whois info, you have different email addresses for registrant, admin, tech, and billing contact. Are those email addresses up-to-date? Especially the king...york@usa.net (billing contact) one?
Dan541 07-05-2005, 05:45 AM you let the domain expire.
Renewal of that domain is your responsibility and yours alone.
enetwork 07-05-2005, 06:16 AM Hello Clint,
What email address are you emailing us from? Please make sure you are not using an email address that is being forwarded through the expired domain. This is very common and if so, you would not receive our replies. We've had email support available 24 hrs a day including the ENTIRE 4th of July weekend.
Regarding renewal emails, that is an automated process so the chances of renewal emails not being sent out to the email address on file are nil. If you did not receive them then either 1. you're email address is not up to date or 2. Your own or your ISP's spam filtering discarded them.
Also, we allow a 30 day grace period for expired domains and you ALWAYS have full access to renew your domains. If you click on "manage domains" in your namecheap control panel, you will see a link called "reactivate".
You will see this:
Domain List Renew Reactivate
Click on "Reactivate" and you will be able to see your expired domains, as well as renew them from there.
If you still have issues, feel free to pm here.
enetwork 07-05-2005, 06:46 AM After investigating this further, I see you are in fact using emails associated with the domain for most of your contact info. That being said, we went ahead and renewed your domain for you so you can receive emails. Your domain should also be resolving soon.
Please contact us to submit payment for the renewal and we will restore the domain to your account for access.
GOrner 07-05-2005, 09:50 AM No that is service you will not find in many places..................
4solutions 07-05-2005, 08:32 PM Like the MasterCard commercials:
-> Domain name - $8.88
-> Customer Service from the CEO at 3:16 am - Priceless!
Thanks to Richard, Clint's site is back in business. Kudos to NameCheap and especially Richard!

I have a question?

GOrner 07-05-2005, 11:32 PM not sure but he is always quick to help and he goes above and beyond IMO. That is why Namecheap gets all my registrations now. 7 in the last month and hope to be many many more.

i wished i worked thre ;)
camner 08-16-2005, 01:12 AM FWIW, I had a couple of domains with NameCheap, then, with an idea of saving some bucks, took advantage of the competition's "specials" to register some other names (and even transferred a couple away from NameCheap). They are all back at NC, and I will gladly pay the $8.88/year. I saved some money, but at the cost of great hassles I don't need. I've always had great service, and quick replies to service-related emails.
