View Full Version : Which is prettier?
Roy@ENHOST 03-28-2002, 02:39 PM Which version is nicer?Mailmenu 1 or Mailmenu 2?
Note: the only difference is the rollover.

awhost 03-28-2002, 02:46 PM both have too much red
the one that selects around the icon and description is better
neofree
eclipsewebs 03-28-2002, 03:30 PM I think I prefer the one that just highlights the icon, but both ways are ok.
I agree with neofree, change the red background, it just distracts from the rest of the page. The other thing that I would look at is the buttons, the background on them is obviously different shading on my screen. You may want to make them transparent gifs.
More than what you asked for, but just some ideas.
byron29 03-28-2002, 04:08 PM Ouch...yes...the red....
Seriously, this looks like an awesome template, but the red is harsh ;-)
#1 is the best but yes agree has too much red -- tone it down a little
Roy@ENHOST 03-28-2002, 04:39 PM take a look at this color scheme and see if it is better.

eclipsewebs 03-28-2002, 05:04 PM I like the yellow much better, it doesn't take away from the content.
Good Job

Much better. Good work! :D
Keep your background dark blue, or very light blue...
Rollovers don't work properly (Netscape 6.2). When you remove the mouse, rollover image stays on.
Roy@ENHOST 03-29-2002, 02:45 AM Mentioned it to the coders.
Here is their feedback:
"Netscape is the hell of HTML coders" Full Stop.
But I said we must make sure our CPanel i usable by every browsers e.g. IE, NS4, NS6, Opera .
When we tried to run the Cpanel on NS4.5 , the CPanel turns into crap because NS has lousy way of processing tables.
These problems will be fixed.

When you set background for the table cells, do it through stylesheet rather then using html. If you have background image, and cells with background on top of it, do it through .css. Not in html code.
And, if table cells have background image too, then in .css file use FULL URL, not just /images/cellbackground.gif ...
Rollovers from DreamWeaver 4 work fine with NS6...
I hope it helps :)

Roy@ENHOST 03-29-2002, 03:02 AM Thanks for the suggestion.
Guess what, to optimise bandwidth, we actually did not use rollover image as user will have to download 2 images, the usual image and the rollover one.
To save on bandwidth,we used script to create the light blue bar when you rollover the image so that no image needs to be downloaded. What happens here is there is a table that has 5 pixels cell padding. The cell padding is white when the mouse is out. The padding is colored light blue when mouse rolls over the table.
We are submitting this error to Netscape in a moment.
