Not a master of java but I will take a wack at it.

1) Make sure the config information for Digichat made it over, it sounds like it doesn't know what http: address to connect to. I believe the settings are in the html file that calls the chat applet.

2) Try re-installing the JVM.

3) I found this on their support forums.

First and foremost, make sure you have the latest Service Pack available for your Win2000 system. Make sure that you installed the Sun 1.3.1 JRE recommended for your Win2000 system before installing our software. When prompted during the installation, make sure that you choose the "java.exe" contained in the Sun JRE program directory, and not "jview.exe", which is the Microsoft VM that is NOT recommended for use with our software. Also, when prompted during the installation make sure that the applet is placed in the main webroot directory of your webserver, not a virtual directory. If behind a firewall or proxy server, make sure that at least one of these 7 default ports is open for DigiChat to bind to in order to function: 8396, 58396, 8080, 443, 110, 119, 25. The "out.txt" contained in the DigiChat program directory will give you information about the initialization of the DigiChat server, including whether or not it was able to bind to the ports successfully. Once the server is initialized, either via the DigiChat Service or the DigiChat Server shortcut, and you have created your sites as "Admin"; you will need to edit the "chat.html" file contained in your "HTML Templates" directory in the DigiChat program directory, in order to reflect your server's IP address or host name (ie CODEBASE=http://SERVERADDRESS/DigiChat/DigiClasses/). Place the "chat.html" in your webroot in order to access your chat applet. If you have anymore questions, please let us know at support@digichat.com
