Rackshack End Of Month Special

All Durons, XP 1700s, and Intel P IIIs (Excluding Compaqs) will have set up fees reduced to $99 from 11 AM Thursday to 5 PM Friday as an "End Of Month Special".

So, for any of you guys who hate big set up fees, here's your chance to snag a few servers with a $99 set up fee.

Argh, I'll wait and one day you may give special offer with no setup fees. Who though of them anyways. Ohh well. I'll wait and somebody should offer something like you do with no setup fees!

HeadSurfer, only the Duron includes control panel (Ensim), but not the others? Discount on setup (though not $99) for the Compaq servers would be great too :D

cheers,

Sounds like a pretty good deal. I also have the same questions as dektong though...

I have a feeling you could move a lot of Compaqs with such an offer, Robert. ;)

Headsurfer, I'm interested in one. How and where do I order to get the $99 setup fee?

I need to stop visiting here, or at least not read the advertising forum. I keep seeing offers like this and feeling really disappointed when I remember that I don't need a server.

I can't do it on the Compaqs. The cost structure is just sooooooo much higher. Sorry, guys. We really just want to blow through the balance of the Durons as we start moving to new purchases pretty much being Intel.

So if I were to buy 1 AMD Package 3, the set-up fee would be $99 instead of $469? I would want the Ensim. Also does this mean you aren't going to be selling AMD's anymore, or will you still be doing so?

I guess I have to ask this again since headsurfer didn't answer my previous post.

How and where do I order to get the $99 setup? There's no mention of this promo on RackShack.net. Do I have to send an email? Goto a special link? Call up and mention the promo?

Some details on how to order this special would be helpful.

Headsurfer, one more question? What is the reason behind RackShack's decision to move away from AMD towards Intel?

Also, this must be a very recent change in direction for your company since you have this posted on the Project Imperial Page...

http://www.rackshack.net/colo/colo.asp

"The black racks that you see will house our new WBL Duron servers. Since we own the entire facility, we can decide between cabinets, racks, and shelves and can also decide upon which foot print server works best. For the value offerings, where cost of the server is VERY important, we have chose a mid-tower configuration much like Rackspace (tm) has done. We get the greatest ideas from our competitors!"

Does this include all Duron machines? If it doesn't let me know. I looked at the site and it showed the regular price set-up fee for Package #3 Duron. Please let me know as I would like to sign up.

Thanks everyone. We've sold over 150 servers so far today and are just about out of the durons. The XP 1700s are gone. The Durons with Ensim are almost gone.

We dropped the monthly on the Intel P IIIs from $129 to $99 to go along with the $99 monthly. The new monthly rate will also apply to all customers who have already made their purchase on their next billing cycle.

The specials on the setup fee do not apply to prior purchases.

The volume is much greater than expected and we're working to make every spare server that we have available for sale between now and tomorrow at 5PM.

The new servers will be available on Wednesday and we will announce those configurations this weekend.

Last note: If you want a Compaq, we may have a small price break on those tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for the business,

I tried ordering the AMD Package 3 only to have a mishap in the order process and now it says it is sold out. I really want to get that server, but it won't let me. This really sucks. Just because my browser goes haywire. Oh well. Guess I will have to wait until they make more.

Ordered a ensim duron 40 GB when it said 3 left. After I filled in the cc details and clicked the final button I got the error message:

There was an error when Processing your Order. Please Contact our Customer Service Department at 713-333-7873 or email Customer Service at There are no more IP Addresses."cust_service@rackshack.net to Resolve this Problem. At this time your Credit Card was charged.

ERROR!There are no more IP Addresses.

Sent an email with that info to the address given without answer (been about 2 hours now). Called the phone number, got connected to three different people and the last one kept telling me hold on, then came back, a sec, hold on, etc...

After about 5 minutes I had to hang up because my baby woke up. I am in germany and didn't want to spend a fortune on phone calls either...

Now I don't even know whether I got the server or not.

Don't know whether the card has been charged or not.

Hope this doesn't turn into a "no server but have to charge back nonetheless" mess. I wouldn't be too much concerned about whether I got the server or not but my understanding of the part above is that the card has been charged?

Eric it looks like you got caught in a signup error. Our provisioning system was bogged a little and you were one of a half dozen or so that had an error.

Please email me at ram@ev1.net AND headsurfer@rackshack.net your details and we'll look at it in the morning and correspond by email.

If your card was charged, I'll make sure we find a server for you or cheerfully refund your money.

It has been a hectic day for oue entire staff. We had absolutely no idea the response would be soooooooo great. We noe stand at over 175 for the day.

My apologies for the error and confusion in teh signup process.

You can't throw in ensim with your remaining Intel boxs? Come on now work with us, work with us ;)

Yeah, I already asked bout the Ensim on the Intel box but have yet to receive a reply - if so I'll snap one up today!

Also anyone know how much extra it is for a 7200rpm drive, or do they come standard?

Called and they aren't offering ensim with the Intel pac so I guess we'll wait for others to pop out of the woodwork with a few deals. Somethings a bit funny with all the deals as of late, just have to keep checking I guess. Congrats to those that got the Duron and XP deals.

Anyone know how the pricing works for the i.p.'s?

the $25 one time fee, is that for each i.p. or what?

Thanks Headsurfer

Angie emailed me and told me I'll get a refund. Someone beat me to the server she said

Sorry, our drive duplication/provisioning system is not set up for Ensim on those SKUs.

On future platforms, we will support RH 7.2, Plesk, and Ensim on all servers.

We have lowered the Compaq setup fee to $199 and have about 100 of those available.

There are only about 25-30 of the Intel P III with RH 7.1 left.

Thanks for all of the support,
