If it's not the mailbox on my desktop; it's the mailbox at the post office.

Same here. Get supposedly legitimate foreign companies spamming. Mostly from russia, germany, here.

I think that the US companies know better than to spam.

We usually just spam them back.

It's not worth complaing to their ISPs.

What's really funny is when they spam darrell@theprimehost.net trying to get me to sign up for web hosting. I find that to be hilarious!

of course you know writing your e-mail address out like that on a public forum is a good way to get it spidered for the spam lists :)

I think I might start signing up everyone who spams me upto a list with hosting offers or something.

Then again the end doesn't justify the means...

I added my email address to some "DEMO" usergroup and since then I have been getting 40-50 SPAM emails per day.

I figured they must of got my email address and then sold it to dozens of spammers..

Not true at all. I get loads of spam from companies in USA. Some american-yellow-pages-something spammed me saying:

'I went to you website blah.com and noticed you're not listed.... blah blah blah.. for $blah we'll blah your blah'

SPAM comes from everywhere ;)

I think we were talking about php/java/asp/visual dev development outsourcing spam. Getting most of it from overseas.

My favourite is the company in China who keep trying to sell me helicopter rotor blades.

My favourite spam problem was a customer who sent the spam to a list of addresees which included abuse@hostroute.com and then claime dit was an opt in list and not just harvested addresses.

I'm getting SPAM from Korea. I can not even understand one word except the From and To addresses.

Majority of my email is SPAM. :( And almost all email addresses are those which have been published on some website. e.g. webmaster@.... or some newsgroups etc.

Yes, SPAM come from everywhere. The US companies now list 1-800 number to remove you from the list

I usually go to http://www.spamcop.net and process the SPAM and send the result to abusing networks.

I know nothing happens afterwards (usually), but at least we can put it in an effort to inform professional networks about the open relay and abuse.

By now I have been able to close many accounts at hotmail etc. :D

I used to work for a financial newsletter and one time we received a fax through our fax machine that said the following:

REMOVE OR BE DAMNED

I was the email administrator and due to the fact that he signed up with a really old email address that he had forwarding to his new one, and he refused to forward the message to me as an attachment I could not remove him. This guy was the reason that I implemented a "You are subscribed as <emailaddress>" footer in the bottom. I thought it was pretty funny though.

Another funny one was a guy who had the same exact issue as this guy wrote in and said.

"i am stepping out for a minute to get some coffee if you send out another one of your wonderful stock split alerts, you can reach me on my cell phone at <number here>" Of course this guy was being completely sarcastic.

I guess in these cases I was the spammer. But these people had to have opted in at some point.

The reason this was so funny it was during the time of year when we were sending out 10-20 split announcements a day.
