I have a quick question about adsense, that I'll divide into three.

1.) Is there a way to choose the category of ads that will be displayed on your site?

2.) Is there a way to choose a category of ads that will not be displayed on your site? Or can you only enter domain names?

3.) Say if google found two different categories of ads to display on your site: Sand or Web Hosting. Does it choose the one that has a higher CPC or the one that has the lower CPC?

Thanks,
Jason

Except for premium advertisers, there's no way to directly specify what categories of ads you either want or don't want. You can influence it by doing essentially the same things you'd do for basic search engine optimization for organic listings: manage what text you in titles, headings, emphasized words, etc... as well as, of course, the body text on each page.

Expect it, just as in learning organic SEO, to take some time and experimentation.

Adsense can be a pain in the rear end to deal with. Sometimes it just pick a word or two out of your entire page and decided to put ads on that. I am currently having that problem. I think it has to do with how you design your tables etc. but I am not sure.

Right , I personally think that Adsense is lacking the basic common sense.

Basically there are two elements to it: the placement of keywords on your pages, and the inventory of ads which would be appropriate for those words. No matter how well you adsense-optimize your pages, you can't get ads that don't exist.
