Hi,
Please suggest co-location providers in the St. Louis, MO area. This includes Southwestern Illinois, such as Belleville and Fairview Heights, IL.
Any experiences or opinions you can share on co-lo providers in the St. Louis area are much appreciated!
Thank you very much!
Louis
I would recommend two:
RackMy.com (located at Inflow DC)
Cybercon.com
Both of them are in St. Louis area. I heard very good things about them.

I'd personally take Cybercon off the list. They allow heavy duty spammers onto their network, and we for one have essentually blocked the entire Cybercon IP range from our network.
The worst is probably em5000.com/.net. They were repeatedly attacking our network and Cybercon abuse never replied to our complaints. Due to inaction on multiple spammers, we had no choice than to block their entire IP space. Many other network administrators also have their IP space blocked...
You might look here before deciding on Cybercon http://groups.google.com/groups?q=cybercon&hl=en
I'd highly recommend Inflow or providers using their datacenters. They have some of the most redundant datacenters available.
I hope that helps.

Thanks for sharing Mike. I guess the choice is narrowed down :)

We have a few machines at Cybercon and have not had any problems. They have great support too (answer the phone 24/7 always).
I cannot speak of the spam issue above, we had a spammer once and were warned, but we don't host spammers and had already removed him. Otherwise, they have been fast to reply and I cannot recall any downtime yet.. been there about 8 mos+

Their datacenter doesn't seem bad (based on their web site and talks with sales reps). They were on our list of potential candidates when we were looking to potentially relocate to St. Louis. St. Louis was taken off our list before I made it out to visit, but clearly they have a well documented acceptance of spammers on their network, which I personally stongly oppose (regardless of how nice the datacenter is).
Cybercon's entire IP space is on numerous blacklists (including ours) which I would also personally prefer to avoid at any cost. I would not be the least bit happy if I or my customers couldn't e-mail to a large percentage of outside networks.
My personal recommendation would be to avoid them as long as they are harboring spammers and having their IP space blacklisted.

mgriffin,
You mentioned em5000 is one of the worst spammers. We have been working to remove them from our network for quite some time and as you will see, they are no longer with Cybercon. Because of the help of people like you, we can build a case against spammers and remove them from our network. That is why I find it discouraging to see someone who will help remove spammers, also discourages a legitamate business from signing up.
We do strictly enforce our AUP. Please give us a call so we can work with you on what ever problems or dissatisfactions you have had with Cybercon in the past. We work hard to reply to every abuse complaint and make sure it is handled promptly and effectively. We host over 800 dedicated and colocated servers. It is a shame that a few problem servers that can be dealt with effectively would need your blacklisting our entire network.
Regards,
Jeff Florida
You might contact Global Compass, I believe they have space in Inflow there in St. Louis. www.globalcompass.com
