Im looking at starting out as a reseller, however I'm not sure as to whether I should first am my product at the general web user (generic web site masters) or also include an e-commerce package or 2. Any help greatly appreciated

what exactly do you mean by offer an e-commerce package...........If this will be aimed at serious businesses then you will have to make sure that you have the proper uptime and support to offer.......
I have dealt with a couple of larger organisations that need serious uptime etc, and personally i wouldnt put them on a reseller account(as they are generally overcrowded).....too much stress when something goes down etc....

I would highly recommend that you start off by aiming for the general web user.........Much easier to manage(most of the time) and a good way to learn...
