Anyone recommend an inexpensive 1u rackmount switch?

I only need 4 ports....

My problem is that I want 1/4 rack at a co-location site... and most ISP's only give you one feed. So I'm going to feed that into a firewall system but the "inside" part of the firewall will go into this switch for the other 3 servers I cam hosting.

So I need a rack-mount switch with 4 ports. I don't want some facy one, just something reliable and cheap.

Also: How do most of you deal with power distribution? ISP will give me two outlets... i would need 5 for the 3 servers + firewall + switch. Are there any inexpensive 1u power strips?

Thanks.

I found power strips at BuyRackGear.com (http://www.buyrackgear.com/rackmountpwrstrips/index.asp) for $36... should do the job.

Check with your provider before using that. Generally only a certain amount of power is allocated to each rack in a data center. If you use more power than is allowed for the your equipment may not function.

As far as the switch is concerned, you can get a DLink 24 port unmanaged rackmount switch:

Or you can get an HP 8 port http://www.hp.com/rnd/products/switches/switch408/summary.htm for pretty cheap.

Anyone recommend a reseller for the HP 8-port switch?

ok, I'm to the point where spending $150 for a rackmount switch seems kind of a waste.

If I have three 1u servers and 1 switch... I can just set the switch on top of one of the servers, right :)

----- 1u server -----
----- 1u server -----
*** set switch ***
----- 1u server -----
----- 1u powerstrip ----

I never even saw a rackmount 4-port switch before....

If you only need 4 ports, just buy a really cheap switch at OfficeMax (make sure it's a switch and not a hub) and use that...and just lay it on top of one of the servers or something :)
