hi, I did reboot the server 2 hours ago but it did not come back online (yes I did reboot not shut down :stickout ). I've send a trouble ticket 1 hour ago, and a first emergency ticket 20 minutes ago.... but still nothing.

what are your expierences in this cases? I can understand that it's very early in the morning in USA now (where the server is located) but isn't this a long time? :bawling:

you have to talk with your provider , if its normal one he needs to have someone 24/7 .

They should have given you access to an emergency paging system or phone number for situations like this. If they didn't, then I recommend looking for another provider.

yeah you are right.... they offer an emergency ticketing system and I've sent some first emergency ticket. I'm offline now since nearly 3 hours :-( but perhaps they are already working on this problem, but not informing me?

frustrated.... after 4 hours and 20 minutes I got an answer to my emergency ticket telling me "we are looking at it". nearly 2 hours are over since this message... I'm still offline.

I'm offline now since 5 hours and 50 minutes :-(

if I may know, who is your provider? (you may pm me in case you don't want to mention it publicly).

cheers,

Interesting. Did they find the problem? Or it just came online :)

Coz sometimes you have to be careful with what you do and if you don't learn from your mistakes, you'll end up in similar situation again.

I had a similar problem where one server was not responding. No telnet, no reboot :( and once I got it online I thoroughly traced the problem and found the bug in one script that caused it to halt.

It should be good learning.
