With your rackshack servers, did you have to apply a lot of security updates, or updates in general? Are the secure to you?

Actually Our Technicians do take care of those issues. Whenever we bring in a new machine we have a routine procedure which we go through to lock all holes.

However I dont think you'll have any problems if you keep in eye on the machines and not giving out SSH's to everybody and control your user accesses.

Although we are monitoring the servers 24/7 and are ensure of their security and are up to date, we still require a copy of a drivers licence or a passport for giving SSH access, and we are more strict about it with our international clients.

If you also go read the apche and linux news and articles they will also guide you with how to secure your server. (thats my suggestion)

And I have to add that we dont use the rachshack servers for regular virtual hosting, we usually provide them to companies with high traffics and we manage it for them.

Hi Sina, I'd be veeeeeeeery happy to know more about your "routine procedure". We do all take care about security and read every kind of stuff in forums and on sites... but I did never find a routinge procedure, something I'd really need. Do you mind telling me what do you do?
