View Full Version : Is Direct Admin scalable?

We're looking for a control panel that is reliable and scalable. I'm reading a lot of good comments on Direct Admin, but is it scalable enough to support tens of thousands of domains in multi-server configuration? The current implementation seems to be limited to a single server with manual (scripted) expansion. But, is it scalable to support large number of hosts? I've just received a trial license from DA, and am about to try the product out but I would also like to hear from experienced users. Thanks.

No Da is not designed for this. You should consider Hsphere.

Not for the moment, but I understand some prominent members of the DA forums are releasing their software to allow for support of multiple servers for DNS. Hopefully this will be a good start.

This sounds to me like it's a cheap and dirty hack tricking a system into doing something its not designed for.

Can it be done? Yes
Should you? No

I'd say wait for a proper release that supports it fully or use a system that is designed for it such as hsphere.

To which his own, no one forces you to use or not to use.

I think the only hosting panel out there that does this is hsphere.

Well for DNS, there is always 4PSA DNS. The DNS solution being talked about on the DA forums is in beta, but has been in development for a very long time.
