Why do you want to to 3.22.28? Saeed eva2000 12-28-2000, 04:56 AM nope 3.23.x the latest version 23 not 22 hehe (SH)Saeed 12-28-2000, 05:20 AM OH!!!!!! ;) Sorry, as usual itīs 10:20am and I haven't slept yet. I think it was Chickens comment that went something like "Why change/update something that is working just fine!?". Saeed  eva2000 12-28-2000, 05:24 AM well mysql 3.23.28 is much better optimised and reduces the mysql load on a server especially for vbulletin etc.. so i really want to optimise server load for my raq3 as much as possible - after all it's only a AMD K6 300 hehe Chicken 12-28-2000, 11:32 AM Originally posted by zolbian I think it was Chickens comment that went something like "Why change/update something that is working just fine!?". Egads. I didn't mean that you shouldn't consider upgrading major things like SQL servers on your machine. There's no sense having mySQL 1.3.4 still there when they've improved the code since then. What I meant is apply the Cobalt patches with caution. Not lately, but what can happen is that you apply o patch that screws up some custom (if you want to call it that) installation you've done. For example, one of the patches (updates) killed the POP-Auth (I had to upgrade a few things to get that working again). typus 01-03-2001, 05:25 PM anyone figured how to install 3.23.blah on the server yet? eva2000 01-03-2001, 06:08 PM well 3.23.30 is out :) but the install would be the same as for 3.22.32 i did but i am wondering if it runs okay.. typus 01-03-2001, 06:32 PM odd... I only see 3.23.29a typus 01-03-2001, 07:43 PM just installed 3.23.29a everything seems to be working so far. I'll let you know if there's any problems. eva2000 01-06-2001, 11:37 PM Originally posted by typus just installed 3.23.29a everything seems to be working so far. I can't really compare between 3.22 and 3.23 because when I had 3.22 the site wasn't open to the public. Just like you, I didn't know that you're also a Luna Partner, hehe eva2000 01-07-2001, 01:49 AM Originally posted by typus Been running 3.23.29a without any problem. Just like you, I didn't know that you're also a Luna Partner, hehe yeah, we're the only two for the particular About.com category too :) i might as well try 3.23.30 since 3.23.x are meant to be alot faster and server friendly than 3.22.x versions. |
