A friend of mine is looking for a free shell account where IRC is allowed (he just wants to run an IRC client so that he can chat on IRC from work... He doesn't want to run a server, bots or anything like that).

So, if you know of any, it would be much appreciated. Thanks! :)

Your a host.. why don't you give him SSH access? :) Make it so when he logs into SSH it automatically loads up BitchX and he can't close it. I've done that for a few people before.

I don't want to run any IRC related programs, as they attract DOS attacks.

Ah.. so send the DOS attacks elsewhere. I see :P

All depends what channels that he idles in and talks **** in. :)

But.. I see your point.

yep
if he doesnt cause trouble
and he doesnt go in channels with kiddies

then there shouldnt be a problem with you giving him a shell

I know, but as commercial web sites are hosted on that server, I'd rather be safe than sorry.
