Hi,

I'm seeking out sources for 1u servers. Dual CPU is desired, I don't need real fast... even a dual P3-933 would be fine...

I am hoping to find a system that will take 3 or 4 IDE hard drives... and put in a 3ware controller.

Anyone know of such systems?

I have to put together 6 or 8 of these... so trying to get it right.

Examples I have already found:

We assembled 2U server and 6 HD with 3Ware (Dual P1 1Ghz + 2GB RAM + Dual PS). We purchased the case from Rackmountpro.com and so far we liked it! 3Ware is the way to go and we've been very happy about it (although it's not the cheapest system we've ever had).

If you want to assemble them, try rackmountnet.com for the case. I talked to Joy/Carrie and they gave me a price a little lower than the rackmountpro.com if you buy in quantities.

Althrough I never bought there, I know that some people in this forum did it.
I can't talk about personal experience with them, but the price seems good.

www.qsol.com has some 3 and 4 drive units.
