Will you renew your free .INFOs?

Good question, Virginia. ;)

I voted for "Some."

I'm surprised that the ones I thought would be shining stars are just worthless and the ones I thought might be turkeys have turned out to be eagles as far as traffic.

It was a real eye opener as these were all non-search engine listed - just type-in traffic domains. I definitely learned a lot from them.

NO way....
In fact, I am not kind of aware of the free .info given:stickout:

No, I don't think I'll renew them. However, I do have a .info that I registered before the free promo, and I will be renewing that one. :)

I payed 2.88 each Back in August and September of least year (2004) some registrars like DomainSite and Dotster were offering up to 50 free .info names.

In addition, around that time, eNom went and registered the .info version of almost all their customer's .com names and gave them to the customer for free if they wanted it.

I missed to buy ae.info
It was in my shopping cart with doster, but at the final step things went wrong.

Now this domain says reserved at http://whois.sc/ae.info
What does this mean? Maybe it is reserved for me & is still in my shoppong cart:eek:

I believe you can't get 2 letter domains at .info. They are all "reserved" by the registry along with other key words. Nobody can get them.

I will be renewing them

BasiK

none. unless they are very good then I will never register a .info again. I figure if I am going to spend money why not spend it on something like a .com or .net

I have only one. well I wont be renewing it

Jeffreyw
06-21-2005, 05:31 AM
No. I have sold some. But the remaining ones i wont renew, because it's getting not enough type-in traffic.

I received a letter in my post from some company based in London saying they operate in UK for .INFO domains and asking for about £60 / year to renew domain. (its about $108)
Saying that we are providing cheap renewals, dont miss this chance :)
They had all the .info whois contact on the letter and claimed that domain is registered with them.

I got it from eNom as .info of my .com (one of 50)

I might only renew a couple from eNom though.

And I won't renew a single one of them. Lots of them were gag URLs, specifically involving the names of friends and unfortunate situations.

For some reason I'm having issues with hitting the reply button. This should be under the .info poll.

Yes, I will. I only registered two rather than registering domains I don't need for the sake of them being free. So I will renew both of them.

I will renew some about 5 that I have with domiansite. Never thought that couple of them will roar.

Rest either, I will sell or let it go.

OK, most of you guys will renew some, but at what price?

I too want to renew some, quite a few actually, but how much is it going to cost me?

Bashar
07-09-2005, 05:16 AM
usually the cost of renewing com/net/org/biz names

El Capitan
07-13-2005, 04:12 PM
I have no need for them.

Johnburk
07-13-2005, 06:29 PM
I will look at profit vs cost to renew.

If I make more profit I will renew
If the profit is just blow cost I will renew
If no profit or no future possiblity for profit, I will no renew.

Same with any domain name

I might renew some of my freebie .info too.

Dan L

Do you think any good .info's will become available after a large portion of them drop over the next few months?

Bashar
07-14-2005, 12:36 AM
thats almost positive, especially while the renewal fee is reglar price compared to FREE

Dan L
07-14-2005, 01:19 AM
Makes sense. I saw most registrars charging $2-$3, but didn't realize the renewal price was over three times at much.

Should be nice later this month to see what's available. I don't like the extension too much, but it's definitely appropriate in some cases.

Bashar
07-14-2005, 02:20 AM
it started in Sep - 31st Dec last year so it needs 2 more months to see the big drop (especially enom's 1 million names at 27-28th sep :D)

erictanjj
07-14-2005, 04:46 AM
there'll be a big revolution of .info domains being dropped ....
