Hi
I need some help with credit card payments using ClienteExec.
I'm planning get ClienteExec soon.
I have a PayPal account (I thing it's a personal account) and I need to know if I can use this account to recive Credit Cards Payments or if I need a Standard or a Pro account to use ClientExec.
Why should I use PayPal and 2CheckOut if the second have an higher rates?
paypal = 3.9% + $0.30
2co = 5.5% plus $0.45
Since I'm in Europe, do I have any advantage of using one over onother?
Thanks
Nuno

With paypal you cannot accept credit card payments unless your customer is also a paypal member. 2CO allows you to accept a customers credit card without making them being a member.
However, I am unsure if 2CO can be used for web hosting payments as they do not allow it to be used for game server hosting or shells. They don't say anything specifically about web site hosting but those two services are fairly similar to web hosting. Hopefully someone will be able to clarify that for both of us.

Actually, I think that as of 2 months ago you no longer have to have an account to make a payment using PayPal.

o wow. That is nice to know. I haven't done a whole lot with paypal yet as most of my customers at the current moment are local and just drop off their payments.
Also I submitted a ticket to 2CO's help desk seeking clarification on the web site hosting issue that I asked about earlier and will post in this thread as soon as I get a reply.

You need to have a Premier/Business Paypal account to receive credit card payments into your account.
As far as why you should accept 2CO, some people really detest Paypal and you could lose business if it is your only processor.
For a business just starting out 2CO's rates really aren't that bad, considering there are no monthly gateway fees. The downside (besides the higher rates) is that your payouts are only 2x per month whereas a standard merchant account will normally settle within 72 hours.
I've found that having at least 2 forms of payment methods tends to make the largest number of people happy.
Good luck! :)
