Hi all,

I'm starting an online business, located in Canada, which will be geared toward the US audience, accepting USD. And I have a US Bank account.

My business will be dealing mainly in custom designed gifts and crafts and I am looking for a payment processor solution that will allow me to accept US CC orders from a Canadian location.

I'm looking to accept Visa, MC, Amex, and possibly dinners club (not required, but welcomed).

This is a small business venture, so I'm trying to limit all my costs down to the bone, which is why I'm having a tough time finding a fairly modest merchant account/processor.

Would anyone have any suggestions ?

Thanks in advance,
Shawn

What is your approximate turnover? D'you want to go with 3pp or with personal merchant account? As it really depends. Using merchant account is usually profitable if turnover is more than 1000$ per month.

You may want to think about InternetSecure or PSI-Gate.

In particular, I believe PSI-Gate has some hybrid options that might work well for you.

There is a forum member here, DigitallyJustified, who has worked quite a bit with them and has been a reseller for some time - you may want to see if he can assist you.

The business itself is not intended for large scale sales, rather in the area of $300-$600 p/month range. I have already set up a paypal account, unfotunently a lot of people seem to be turned away because of it. I receive quite a bit of email asking me for cc processing availability.

There are also some US processors as well that will support you if you have a US bank account and US presence.

But with that low amount, 2CO might even be a better option. Your customers would still be taken to another website to enter their CC information though

mOOnie if you process less than 1000$ using 3pp is more profitable as rates are better.
If your clients are confused with this 'redirection' to another site for payment' processing, there are some 3pp that allow client to stay at your page.
