View Full Version : I have a Google " Did you mean" Question :)

Ok, I have been wondering about this for a long time...

In Google, I type in a search for my website "Ludakicks" when the results show up at the top I see:

"Did you mean: sidekicks"

Does anyone know how to get rid of that? This has happened with other sites as well but I don't have any idea of how to get that "Did you mean" out of Google's system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get your name "ludakicks" more popular and it will no longer people are spelling it wrong.
That's the only way.

Okay, the site is getting popular according to Alexa's rankings. How much more popular does it have to get?

It depends on how many links Google has indexed. I'm currently at 18,300 and still getting it. Just give it some time :)

Have fun trying to do anything to influence Google's search results these days. It took me about a year of passive effort to get my blog to be the #1 entry for my name (yeah, I know, I didn't do much more than complain about it's being on page xxx to random people, but that's not the point).

From my understanding Google only updates its indexes every 3 to 6 months, it may take a while for it to come back around to your site. You could always pay the man, and they would bump you up in the process.

It has almost been 5 months since I first started this post. Google does remove the "Did you mean" at the top of their pages. As they finally did that with Ludakicks.com a few days ago.

Getting the company name more popular was a major help.

Does anyone use SEO for the websites? If so, who do use?

Thanks,

Ryan
