no FDC uses cap to 10mbit if you extensively use the 100mbit port.

it is said in their TOS

Please do have a look at their Terms of service, located at http://www.fdcservers.net/tos.html

If you look at the end of the page, you will see the bandwidth related terms.

yes it says this:

Bandwidth usage abuse

FDCservers.net LLC pro-actively monitors backbone utilization in order to ensure that bandwidth resources are equally shared. FDCservers.net LLC has no objections against burstable usage of the 100Mbit port however customers that have sustained usage of 15Mbit (outbound only) or more may be asked to upgrade to a dedicated service plan or may have their port capped to 10Mbit

i just dont get why an "unmetered" service gets bandwidth usage as 'abuse'...

i think unmetered means unmetered !

if they mean unmetered, and no cap limits...

it seems like FDC plays with words, for example:

100Mbit unmetered service plan

Each server is connected via private* (non-shared*) 100Mbit port to our 6Gbit backbone which is shared* by all servers that have subscribed to unmetered service plan. The bandwidth is NOT dedicated.

they say keywords like private, and not-shared, while after this they "change subject" by mentioning that their main backbone is shared...

The 100mbit port is private, the 6gbit backbone is shared.

so If I used about 7 TB outbound would I get Bandwith abuse. Looking at doing a filehosting site.

Definately. However, if you were to use 15mbit+ 24/7, you will get capped to 10mbit.

I most likely will. Do you have a solution that this won't happen or where I can limit it to 14.9 mbit for certain hours of the day ;)
