My domain is "ACTIVE" and a friends is "LOCKED". We both used the same registrar, what's the difference?:confused:

His is locked and can't be transfered away unless it is unlocked. Yours isn't locked and could be transferred away.

Do you know why this is? I'm curious how the status changes.

You log in and change that yourself via the registrar control panel.

It can be done either by you or the support staff of the registrar.

You can ask the question why they have LOCKED your friends domain.

My opinion is to keep the domains LOCKED untill and unless you wish to transfer them away.

I agree with CSDesk, LOCK those puppies up. ;)

Makes it harder for thieves and scammers to initiate unauthorized transfers and try to steal your domain name.
