which control panel plesk or helm will be better in my hands as i get clients to use asp - sql?

Hello -

I'ld suggest you to go for Helm. It really rules and is the 'Next Gen' control panel and supports a huge list of third party softwares. I have been using it since over 2 yrs now and never had any major issues. Their forum is also active and you get solution in very less time.

It doesnt do automated backup as Cpanel to secondary drive .. but you can configure that using simple scripts and can automate it.

If you decide to go with Helm then you can contact me for its Installation, Confuguration and Basic Security and Hardening.

WIth plesk, you can configure scheduled backup to a drive, or even to remote FTP server.

But if you compare other features you'll find Helm much more better.

I don't think so. Could you explain?

I am not at all impressed with it, it doesn't seem to support ANY 3rd party software at all, at least you couldn't find a list of supported tool on their site, and no Coldfusion, and I didn't really find it that user friendly as Helm is.

Helm has Restore Tool which has ability to rebuild/restore server, move domains and accounts between servers and many moreeeeeeee. You surely require this when you've a disaster.

You can find list of supported tools at their site :

http://www.webhostautomation.com/products/helm/latestversion.aspx

Their next version ( supposed to be out later this month ) has few of the major addons and changes which makes Helm more rock solid.

It does support a number of 3rd party software products, there was a list on their site last time I looked and it was not much different from Helm's. Plesk of course supports Coldfusion including latest v7, it has extensive backup and restore options too.

You just don't seem to know anything about Plesk, yet you stand that Helm is "much more better". To each his own.

I recommend plesk due to it’s cross platform and has a more simplified control panel and due to some of other features it has too.

For scalability and cost HELM is a good choice. The support forums are vibrant and full of helpful people.

I am also a Plesk guy when it comes to Windows servers. I have used both and HELM is just old feeling.

HELM rocks!!

You can control multiple servers without much trouble at all.
supports alot of 3rd party software and has a large community following.

Both are good. Both have issues. We decided on Plesk for Windows when entering the windows market because we were a large Plesk Linux host so it made sense. There are issues as with any software but it's pretty decent and very easy on the eyes. We have our servers hooked up to remote SQL servers and remote mail servers. All very smooth.

A vote for Helm here. I don't know much about Plesk, but we've been using Helm for a year and a half without any major issues.

HELM any day :)

Too much problems with Plesk for Windows and beleive me, I love Plesk for Linux (I have several servers with it) but 3 times I tested Plesk for Windows and 3 times I came to regret.
