View Full Version : Bad Credit Merchant Account??
LadyHost 06-12-2005, 12:36 AM I have a customer who has disclosed his need for assistance with a merchant account because he has bad credit. I know that PlugNPay will take just about anybody but do you know of any other options?
Thanks!
LH
Corey Bryant 06-12-2005, 10:24 AM Depends on what country the client is in. A lot of processors will accept your client because they understand that bad personal credit might not mean how a person does business.
LadyHost 06-13-2005, 12:37 PM He's in the US. He's already been turned down by 2 Authorize.net providers. Any ideas?

Corey Bryant 06-13-2005, 12:53 PM Well when you say authorizenet.com providers - is that just the gateway or merchant account as well? Most will look at what he is selling, his terms of service, yet.
LadyHost 06-14-2005, 02:28 AM Sorry for the wait. He's been turned down by 2 merchant account providers, both using authorize.net as the gateway.
What other options does he have besides PayPal and PlugNPay?

Steven.C 06-14-2005, 03:11 AM Charge.com will take just about anyone, although the fees can be pretty high for low volume merchants.
Corey Bryant 06-14-2005, 08:36 AM charge.com is actually a reseller for Cardservice. Contact other CSI agents to give you a better discount rate this month actually
steven-v 06-14-2005, 01:01 PM Cardservice accept anybody - Good Credit, Bad Credit, No credit, International Business :)
Corey Bryant 06-14-2005, 04:19 PM Well almost everyone :) but they do have a reputation of being more lax than most
cdgcommerce 06-16-2005, 12:25 AM Bad credit is usually not a factor that will result in a decline with most modern processors these days.
However, the tricky part comes into play if the merchant has bad credit AND has a high risk product or wants a large ticket size or monthly volume without any financials to support it.
So it is really more of a question than just credit alone.
LadyHost 06-16-2005, 10:07 PM ok. I'm going through all the suggestions and I'm going to call a few tomorrow. I've been busy so its on my major things to do list for tomorrow.
Thanks All!

(sorry appaarently as a new member I cant post urls yet.)
Stumbled across this the other day high percentage middle man.
but will deposit in to personal account it seems and is a member of the BBBonline. might be worth looking into.
Corey Bryant 07-06-2005, 08:12 PM Actually 2Checkout is not a merchant account processor, it is similar to a third party processor. They pay out usually every 2 weeks depending on your volume. A merchant account, you usually get your money in a couple of days
RazzBlade 07-06-2005, 08:19 PM Exactly.
He suggested he was looking for an alternative due to bad credit.
