I put in a request to transfer a domain from BulkRegister to our RegistryDomains/eNom account. I soon received the confirmation request from RegistryDomains for transfer at $7.95. Later, out of nowhere, I got a "thank you e-mail" from Domain Registry of America for the same domain, and that my card was charged $25.

I sent them these messages, and finally got it resolved:

STOP writing to us! we are NOT interested!! We can get domains for $7.95 from eNom.
.........................................
After finding out they charged my card, I wrote:

Thank you for your reply.

This was made in error. Please refund. We renewed with eNom, and that's where the domain is now. So that payment was for a service that has not even been delievered.

This sounds very serious. How did they charge your account? I wouldn't just be happy with the resolution of the problem. But I would want some answers as to how this happened, how they got your cc number, and how it happened.

I would wonder how they got my credit card number myself, but I haven't gotten my bill yet, so I cannot confirm yet that the charge ever took place. I had better things to do with my time than call my credit card company (as long as this was resolved), but believe me, if I find that charge on there without a credit, I'll be calling.

If I find it on my bill, I may call anyway to complain just for the reasons you stated.

Sometimes waiting to contact your credit card company can actually cause you to have a better chance of being stuck with the charge. I know that some credit card companies require that they are contacted within 30 days to run a chargeback on a company. If you don't contact them and it is too late by their standards, then you'll be stuck. Just a thought in case you wanted to check on this sooner. Plus, most allow you to login to your account online to check things out. At least the major CC companies do.

Thanks for your concern, but I'm not too concerned about this $25 charge. I never have had any problems refuting charges. I once found a $300 charge on my bill I didn't recognize, and got it charged back through my credit card company with no problems.

In addition, I'm almost 100% positive either the charge never took place, or that they have refunded the money. It's doubtful that BOTH the charge took place AND they never refunded.

In short, calling them if I don't need to, is simply not worth my time, especially over $25, when I'm really busy. Further, time is money, and I shouldn't have to pay for someone else's crime or mistake.
