View Full Version : day of week/month signup rates
magnafix 03-23-2002, 09:42 PM Just ran some numbers and got these results:
Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the most common days of the week to sign up.
The 13th, 14th, 18th, and 23rd are the most common days of the month to sign up.
The hours of 11AM-3PM are the most common time of the day to sign up.
In other words, mid-month, mid-week, mid-day.
Curious if others have noticed a similar trend?

If I have a heavy day, it's a Thursday, weekends are slow. First of the month (first half) has beaten the second half of the month by nearly $1000 in signups the last 2 months.
akashik 03-24-2002, 02:10 AM Thusday here too, though it tends to be in the second half of the month that we get more... Odd huh?
Agree with the weekend stint too. Pretty slow compared to during the week - gived us time to do development at least :)

DomiNET.net 03-24-2002, 01:21 PM Saturday is Magic!!!
tazd9t9 03-24-2002, 01:30 PM I have never done strict tests but always find weekends rather slow, maybe its because people look for hosts while they are at work ?
HostFox 03-24-2002, 01:48 PM I think the reason everyone is contributing conflicting statistics is because no one has really thought about targets.
The companies that do better at the weekends are the companies that make most of their money from personal users, who use the internet more at the weekend.
The companies that do better during the week are the companies that make most of their money from business users, who use the internet more during the week.
Also to be taken into account is international times. A company saying that they make the most sales at a particular time of day should consider which part of the world those sales are being made in. Making a sale in the UK at midday does not mean that your customers are buying at midday unless you check that they bought in the UK. If they bought elsewhere, then for them it may have been a completely different time of day, and if near the cusp, a different, day, week, month, year or even decade alltogether.
Roy@ENHOST 03-24-2002, 02:59 PM its weird that we get most orders on wednesday.
Our web stats shows that we do get more traffic on wednesdays too.
mahinder 03-24-2002, 03:32 PM Traffic on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday remain high and so the orders. We receive less orders on saturday nights, reset all days remain normal. i have also noticed incrase in orders on Tuesdays. :)
bitserve 03-25-2002, 02:26 AM Very odd. I've noticed that we get most of our orders on monday.
I had a big weekend this weekend - I wonder what the week will bring :) I haven't been in business to get good stats on when people sign up yet .. :D
we always do the best on the begining of the week ! and its the same during the 2 halfs of the month
