We are currently creating a list of merchant services online (i.e. 2checkout.com) for our customers and other small business owners. We would like to hear personal comments on merchant services and narrowing it down to see who ranks the best on:

Started off from day one with World Pay.

They have always provided us with an exellent service. Yes, it may cost a little more that others, but we have three accounts which enable us to interact with Actinic or create our own scripts (using any term we may require) even an online PDQ to use via the laptop when we're out and about.

We currently use echo and would recommend them to anyone starting out with a merchant account. They have great Support
Financial Transactions (Speed), Fraud Prevention, and are very affordable as well. In terms of customization, you can either write your own script to post to their gateway or use a script such as modernbill, that is integrated with the payment processor. The only stipulation with echo is that you have to charge your clients on a monthly basis only as they do not accept merchants who charge their clients on a quarterly/semi-annual/annual basis. We actually prefer it this way, as it drastically reduces the amount of fraud and chargebacks.

I would agree with ^. Echo is great with the exception of the yearly billing.

I also agree that worldpay is good if a little expensive
