Does anyone else have an account at the game site Sandbox.com? I have an account with them, that I actually never used after my first visit, but the spam I get from this site is unbelievable! I guess it's actually opt-in but it's out of hand. Yesterday alone I got 17 messages from their 'partners.'

The biggest thing is I have to opt-out with each partner individually and with each new one as they are added (at 17 a day they seem to be added constantly)!

All I can say is thank God for e-mail aliases. The address I gave them is about to get forwarded to a free junk account somewhere. Just wanted to warn everyone .... go to playsite or games.com instead. Sandobx takes mailing you "about other offers you may be interested in" to a new level!

Forward the alias back to them. That's what I do. :)

Forwarding the spam back to the spammer? Now theres an interesting idea!

Alternatively, you can get a free account at SpamCop.net that will give you an e-mail address to forward spam to. They will then complain to the administrator responsible for the system from which the spam originates. (Don't do this with opt-in lists though.)

The best advice I can give you is not to ask people to send you spam. They will, and then when you've had enough you've already handed over your right to complain, because you asked for it in the first place.

If it's an opt-in list, why not just opt-out?

You did say you registered with their site, right?

Just go and un-register from their site if the emails are a requisite for membership.

The problem being that it's not just one list. They give your name to companies and eventually your on tons of lists and you have to unsubscribe to each seperately.

I just forwarded it elsewhere, problem solved. I was really just venting more than anything else. :)
