Hi,

Is there any problems using a Geotrust standard SSL cert?

I have looked at Thawte and it sounds like quite a long process to get the cert from them. Geotrust, however, claim they can provide a cert within 5/10 minutes!

Are they the same quality and is there any difference?

Thanks.:)

ok, you are running CPanel...right? No conflicts at all?

Also do you go for the QuickSSL cert?

Hi,
We use geotrust on all our servers. I think cpanel may have put the root file in needed to make it all browser compatible now.

We have no problems with it, and YES, you can actually have them installed and running in 15 minutes or less from when you go to get them.

Thawte can be such a pain, and time consuming... for what... to tell your customers that your server was already secure... Dhu...

I understand the need to have secure servers.. what bugs me is the fact that they have a racket going to make hosts pay 100+ bucks to tell people it is secure.

The cheapest route is not always the best, but in this case, they really deliver what they say.

I had a GeoTrust QuickSSL certificate. You really do get a certificate in 5-10 minutes. It works fine with Cpanel. Thawte has the best browser support. GeoTrust QuickSSL is not recognized by older browsers that not many people use anyway.

I also installed a Geotrust cert within 15 minutes - I have got Thawte certs as well but they are a little long winded to get a hold of - Thawte are slightly more compatable but I think the Geotrusts will do for most browsers out there.

It took us 7 days to get a cert for a customer from GeoTrust.. but we must have had bad luck. I dunno, everyone else seems to get theres right away. BTW, we use CPanel and have had no problems with the geotrust cert.

I got my geotrust certificate so fast I got whiplash. When I had a question they were quick to respond as well.....
