Simone 03-22-2002, 07:58 PM http://www.maxemail.com/ a cheaper monthly fee, good service, I'm using it from October Jeff Rambo 03-22-2002, 08:38 PM uReach.com is your best bet. fax, voice mail, e-mail, line forwarding etc. all on either a toll-free # w/ extension or a dedicated toll-free #. The most expensive plan is $6.99 with I believe .7/min cgiGeek 03-22-2002, 09:11 PM Mr. Rambo Mr. Simone, thank you very much. really, thanks. B. sam.moses 03-22-2002, 09:21 PM What a great idea. Does anyone know of software out there that would let me host such a thing? cgiGeek 03-22-2002, 09:35 PM I do like the idea of my own 1-800, funny thing about Ureach, they have no contact link (Or I am to sleepy to find it) B. markblair 03-23-2002, 02:49 AM There's also j2 Communications (www.j2.com). I am currently using their service and I like the fact that you can receive the faxes in your current e-mail rather than setting up a new one with services such a UReach. UReach may have changed this though but I haven't checked in awhile. Feel free to make any general inquiries here on the board. There are a lot of us here, that use uReach for personal and business purposes, that can answer your question. avara 03-23-2002, 10:23 PM jfax.com offer a free plan that allows you to receive faxes, but not send them (you have to pay extra to send). This shouldn't really be a problem though, as you can just install a fax modem on your local computer anyway. heinz 03-24-2002, 02:30 AM I've used j2 lite for years and it is currently $60/year plus the cost to send each fax. Their support is terrible; my favorite is after reporting an outage I received a response 3 WEEKS later saying "Currently, we are aware of and are working on the issue with these numbers. You should expect a resolution very soon. We will have your number working as soon as possible". I like that their faxes are TIF files and come to any email box you want, but wish voice messages were mp3's or something standard instead of gsm files because I have to install their special software on every machine I use. Their special softare is the type of thing that sprinkles buttons and icons all over your system. Note that using the j2 free service to receive faxes means you will be added to spam lists. |
