Well I realise it probably wasn't your intention, but for those who didn't get it. You 've plugged the gap and give them some more advertising :(

I figured since i was gonna bash the host for spamming i should post the proof. It wouldnt be very good of me to post they spammed me without proof would it?

How does that constitute advertising?
Last I heard, warning people about a company was a public service. Not advertising. Advertising implies that you represent the company or are affiliated with it some how. Just a thought.

Sam

The saying is I don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right.....but, I guess that doesn't apply here....

I was simply making the point that I, and probably a number of other people havn't received it - but now we have ;)

I agree making things known to others is a service, but you don't have to be a part of, or affiliated to a company to advertise for them. Ever heard of all publicity is good publicity?

Gotta disagree with you here - personaly i'm not into 'host bashing' - especially over something so trivial as an e-mail. I receive loads of these virtually every day - the just go in the bin - no big deal.

I disagree with ignoring spam and tend to agree with the idea of posting some bad press about these companies that resort to it. So on that note... I'll validate technics and note that I have gotten the email as well and do not appreciate it....
I figured since i was gonna bash the host for spamming i should post the proof. Proof is not in the advertisment as much as it is in the email headers... Return-Path: <morris@hostex.com>

Date: Wed, 3 Apr 2002 20:24:47 +0000 (GMT) It's marketing like this that costs us all time and money. It's also marketing like this that can cause your Support@, Sales@, Billing@ email addresses to require another tech just to sort the valid email from spam. Those accounts aren't too easy to filter as clients tend to email any number of things from any number of email addresses and I personally do not appreciate anyone who would disrupt this flow ESPECIALLY another host.

Shame on you hostex!

Technics:
I'd edit out the prices, space and features, as it could be used to benefit this company, which spammed me too
