I used to be able to just run traceroute <iphere> from the DOS prompt in windows and it would work, how do I do it now that I'm on XP? I allways get an error telling me that its a command that doesn't exsist.

Thanks!

No, they didn't change anything:
tracert on Windows
traceroute on Linux

you may use http://www.network-tools.com/ this perform detail trace and also shows how-is results and your ip address etc. :)

Other useful sites include SpamCop.net (not just useful for reporting spam, since it includes detailed tracing output) and http://combat.uxn.com/tracing.html (which again is originally intended for tracing spam but works very well whatever you're trying to trace).

Of course, if you can afford it (or if you use a crack, which is of course illegal) NeoTrace is extremely useful.

Actually my favourite is www.samspade.org

(Lotsa free online tools, like ip lookups etc...)

Highly recommended :D

The advantage with SpamCop.com is that although it doesn't have all the functionality of SamSpade.org, SpamCop.com uses one single field, compared to SapSpade.org's eleven fields, and SpamCop still provides all the information you want on an IP address, e-mail address, etc, whatever you put into that field.
