I'm new here. It seems the best place to ask. What do you think of my shared hosting deal? Can you recommend me a better one please?...

My current hosting (Fastnet Hostme.com "Silver" package) costs $20 a month. They give me only 100mb space, 3500mb transfer per month, no proper 'online control' panel, not enough online info (still don't know my path to pearl), and I have only a few pre-installed cgi scripts.

I'm very happy with reliability (never been down to my knowledge) Connection speed is always fast too.

Many suggestions welcome.

My priorities in order...

1. Fast and reliable

2. More transfer (more than my 3500mb monthly)

3. Good Online Control and info

4. Many pre-installed cgi scripts (I have only ten)

I'm happy to pay a few dollars more to get more. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

considering the good features your current host has the price is too high though !! if you do a search on the forum im sure youll find pretty good deals !!

I'd recommend ukname.net

Maybe the professional package.

i've used them for over a year, they use the latest Plesk for a online control panel and are very fast and reliable :)

I've been with Site5.com for about 2 months now and very happy with them. The control panel is very good and has an amazing amount of options. Speed & support are very good too.

If you look here: http://www.site5.com/virtual/comparison.html, you'll see that you can get 200mb with 10gb transfer for $16.95 monthly. They also have quite some scripts you can install, if you wanna know more lemme know and I'll look at my control panel to see which ones :)

I looked at ukname.net and Site5 - both looking good!

I've settled on "VenturesOnline" after reading several posts here and visiting the site. Their packages and services seem very good and they look seriously professional. Only a few installed scripts but include Shopping Cart and other good stuff! I've really been missing out despite paying more at hostme.com

Felt very assured and ordered. Setup was instant! Reckon It's a fine choice.

Glad I came here. Thanks to all.

Ya'll can keep recommending places but note that he's already signed up somewhere a couple of posts ago.
