hmm... so if I wanted to be a reseller for a company that is based on vdi/alabanza who offers reselling options, i would be completely responsible for billing the people who I resell the hosting to?
Some questions:
1) how would I easily and cheaply (and securely) process credit card information from the customers?
2) would taking care of a reselling company take alot of time off my hands?
thanks

Hi Alpha
Yes, you would be responsable for the billing, there are great CC processing systems out there, sucthc as instabill or even paypal
In the beginning it won't take allot of time, but as you grow, it will become more demanding, (as everything else), make sue the host you resell for can give you good support also.

There is PC-based software for charging large batches of cards on a schedule. Most CC processors sell the software of you can buy it on your own but you'll probably have to pay a configuration fee to your processor.

alpha, most hosts will not get involved in your billing issues. Some, however will bill your customers for you and mail you a check after deducting their commission.
You need not get a merchant account if you are starting out. Instabill.com can do your billing for a flat 10% and no setup or monthly fees.
I guess most of your time would be spent answering questions of your current and prospective customers. Billing will probably be a small portion of your time.

If you have a payment gateway such as cybercash or authorize.net you can do what is called a batch upload which is where youll have all your customers and their credit cards in a comma delimited file and youll upload it and it will process all your customers at once.

im really interested in reselling web hosting...
i really don't want to invest tons of money yet since I would be just starting and would like to see how everything works out
what are you suggestions? i am looking for a web hosting company that has nice reseller's options that is cheap and easy to handle. (basically looking a resellers package that will allow me to co-brand)
lol, i know there are alot of you who run your own web hosting... but i need some suggestions as to how i can go about reselling...
thanks :)

Alpha, forum rules don't allow hosts to advertise here. It would be a good idea if you turn on your mail option, or otherwise mention your email address to get direct offers.
