ezPublishing (http://ezpublishing.com/index.html)
What appeals to me about them is that they offer a tremendous range of packages, plus a decent reseller plan. I have not come across such a wide array of plans anywhere else - JSP is hard enough to find on its own!
But I can't seem to find much discussion of them anywhere, so I am wary. If anyone's got any info, I'd love to hear it.
Thanks.

When I started my first .com site a few years ago, I in fact did use EZ Publishing to host my site.
At that time, support and uptime was good and I never had a problem with billing. Even when I informed them that I was leaving because the site got to big.
I have nothing bad to say about them unlike two or three others that I had tried in the past.

I used ezpublishing a year or 2 back. Didn't have a problem EXCEPT with their billing. They kept trying to bill me for charges that were already paid. For example, I was set up to have my payment automatically withdrawn from my checking (something I would never do again). My bank said that an electronic payment had been withdrawn, but EZPublishing kept insisting they had a "check" returned and also tried to charge me $5 for a "returned" check. Huh?
Then, they lost the information for withdrawing payment automatically?? And then they later lost my credit card number?
I don't know if I was just the unlucky one, or if they had a some nitwit doing their billing at the time, but I finally got tired of fighting with them and left.
I also had a hard time with leaving too. I emailed my cancellation but they kept trying to bill me. Said they never got any email even though I sent my cancellation to customer support, billing dept, etc....
That was quite awhile ago now, and I would think, or at least hope, that they would have gotten their act together in their billing department by now.

I've used them for quite a while and hosted a number of sites with them.
They're rubbish.
I've had constant problems with their hosting of one of my sites on a dedicated Tomcat package. It crashes constantly and their support team don't appear to know what they're talking about.
When I say constant I mean constant - I've contacted their support department no less that 50 times over the past 2 years to see why my site is down (again and again) and they haven't been able to resolve the problem.
They've suggested it's a problem with the code, but I host the same code on another one of their servers (same code, same package) and have not had a single problem.
So, if it works then it's likely to work consistently. If it doesn't then you're screwed.
I'm moving all of my sites to webconexions.net - I've used them for a while now and they're superb.
I wouldn't recommend EZPublishing to my worst enemy.

Sorry to report but there billing issues haven't got better. Be careful when doing business with this company.. I can't believe that Lisa(above) Logged her complaint in 2002 and problems are still arising here in 2005
