Can someone tell me more about Verisigns merchant offerings. I thought they had PayFlow (sp?) and it was web based, kind of like worldpay? We've had a sales rep leaving voicemails with us about low rates and such for 'merchant' accounts.
I was wondering if they include gateways and such? I mean, we had our eyes set on Authorize and some merchant somewhere, but we're curious about Verisigns offerings lately.
Can someone enlighten me?

Verisign has a product called Payflow. It is an electronic payment gateway like LinkPoint and Authorizenet.com. You will still need a merchant account to accept credit cards

So they're offering us payflow and a mechant then really?

Verisign does have a few partnerships with some companies: Getting Started - Open an Internet Merchant Account (http://www.verisign.com/products-services/payment-processing/merchant-account-open-ima.html).
Also keep in mind to check with resellers for the Verisign gateway - they can offer it to you at a cheaper monthly price sometimes

But what's the sense then?... Higer registration fee or what?

Verisign can bill one person - the reseller. And the reseller can have 1,000 merchants. Verisign does not have to bill 1,000 people. Verisign bills only one person. Makes perfect sense to me.

Exactly, the reseller handles the day to day management, billing, etc. Verisign reduces it's overhead and passes that savings in it's reseller rates.
If you think about it, this scenario exists in many different markets, hosting obviously included.

Definitely hosting LOL - makes our jobs a lot easier. We bill one person and then they turn around and invoice 100 customers.
